Here, you can configure how long FileZilla should wait before reconnecting, and the maximum number of times it should try to reconnect. If the connection is closed while a transfer is in progress, then FileZilla can be configured to reconnect and attempt the transfer again. If you have a very slow connection to a server and it always times out, try using a greater value. When I do this from PHP, using ftpconnect(), it works and the 'or die ('Couldn't connect to server')' doesn't run, and it even shows up in the client window.
Here, you can enter the amount of time in seconds that FileZilla should wait before disconnecting. When I connect to my server from cmd, the filezilla server client (from xampp) shows that I am connected, then I can log in and run any commands.
